Carabiner stays · climbing

Your carabiners,
always facing the right way.

Flexible stays that hold your carabiner in position on the webbing of a quickdraw, dogbone, or cam sling — so it's never flipped sideways when you're pumped and reaching for the clip. Ten to a pack, in the colors of your rack.

Small part, fewer fumbles

Every climber knows the moment: you're reaching for a clip and the rope-end carabiner has flipped sideways or spun around the sling. These flexible stays hold the carabiner in the correct orientation on the webbing, so your draws and cam slings present the gate the same way every time.

Each pack contains ten stays. Two sizes cover the rack: Large fits quickdraws and standard-size carabiners on 11/16" (17.5mm) webbing — think Petzl Djinn or Black Diamond Litewire. Small fits cams and compact carabiners on 7/16" (11mm) webbing — CAMP Nano 22, BD Miniwire, and the like. They're a favorite on cams and 30cm slings used for placement extension.

The Rainbow pack is built for cam racks: two each of blue, purple, green, yellow, red, and gray, so the stay color matches the cam. Want a custom color mix in any pack? Just reply to your order email and we'll accommodate.

One firm safety rule: clip the carabiner to the webbing of the draw, dogbone, or cam, and never use stays on 60cm slings or alpine draws — a stay can interfere with how an extended sling deploys. Check your gear before every climb.

FAQ

Which size do I need?

Large for quickdraws and standard carabiners (11/16"/17.5mm webbing). Small for cams and small carabiners (7/16"/11mm webbing). If your rack has both, get one of each pack.

How do they install?

Slide the stay onto the webbing and clip the carabiner through the stay and the webbing together — the carabiner must always be clipped to the webbing itself, with the stay simply holding orientation. See it wrong and re-rig it before climbing.

Can I use them on alpine draws or 60cm slings?

No. Do not use stays on 60cm slings or alpine draws — a stay can prevent extended slings from deploying properly or worse cause the opposite carabiner to become unclipped from the sling and instead rest on the stay, a life threatening condition. Quickdraws, dogbones, and cam slings only.

What colors can I get?

Black, blue, green, gray, orange, pink, purple, red, white, and yellow — or the Rainbow cam-rack pack (2 each of 6 colors). Solid colors: pick from the dropdown when you order. Mixed-color packs are also no problem — reply to your order confirmation with the combination you want.

Are these load-bearing?

No — the carabiner is always clipped to the webbing, and the stay only manages orientation. They are not PPE and bear no climbing load. Always inspect your gear before use; the user assumes all risk.

What does shipping cost?

Flat-rate US shipping: $8 for 1–3 units, $10 for 4–9, free at 10+. US addresses only.
