Every Detroit Prototype product is 3D printed to order by a small American business, and we want you to be satisfied with what you receive. Please read our policy below.

Defective items

We accept returns and exchanges for defective items only. If your product arrives damaged, malfunctions, or has a manufacturing defect under normal use, contact us within 30 days of delivery at info@detroitprototype.com with your order number and a photo of the issue. We'll arrange a replacement or a full refund, including any return shipping for the defective item.

Non-defective returns

Because our products are made to order, we do not accept returns for buyer's remorse, incorrect product selection, or change of mind. All sales other than defective items are final. Please review product details, dimensions, and compatibility (for example, Magpul MOE / MOE+ grip fit for battery inserts) before ordering, and email us with any questions first — we're happy to help you pick the right item.

Consumable products

For hygiene and safety reasons, the Funkbuster deodorizer media (baking soda and activated charcoal) cannot be returned once opened. Defective housings are covered under the defective-items policy above.

How to start a return

  1. Email info@detroitprototype.com within 30 days of delivery.
  2. Include your order number (from your confirmation email) and a description and photo of the defect.
  3. We'll respond with next steps. Do not ship anything back until we confirm.

Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method through PayPal. Please allow a few business days for the refund to appear after it's processed.

Shipping

We ship to United States addresses only. Shipping charges are non-refundable except where the return is due to our error or a defective item.
