Curved to fit, priced to share
Flat adhesive mounts and curved helmets don't get along — the edges lift, the bond fails, and your camera takes the hit. This mount base is printed with a curve that matches helmet shells, so the whole footprint makes contact and the glue joint actually holds. It was developed on a Black Diamond Vision climbing helmet and suits similarly curved lids.
The interface is the standard GoPro-style two-prong mount, so it works with GoPro cameras and the huge ecosystem of compatible action cams and accessories. A nut and bolt are included (style may vary between orders).
For the strongest bond: lightly sand both surfaces — the bottom of the mount and the spot on the helmet — then apply your adhesive and hold pressure while it sets. A flexible adhesive like E6000 handles helmet flex well.
Each order includes three mounts: one for your primary helmet, a spare, and one for a partner. Multiple colors available. Designed and 3D printed in Detroit, Michigan by Detroit Prototype LLC.

Will it fit my helmet?
The base is curved for typical climbing/sport helmet shells — it was developed on a Black Diamond Vision. If your helmet has an unusual profile, email a photo to info@detroitprototype.com and we'll advise (or customize).
What glue should I use?
A strong flexible adhesive like E6000 works well. Lightly sand both surfaces first and keep pressure on the joint while it cures — that preparation makes the difference.
Does modifying my helmet affect its safety rating?
Gluing anything to a certified helmet is at your own discretion — some manufacturers advise against adhesives or modifications. Check your helmet maker's guidance, use a helmet-safe adhesive, and never sand into the shell itself, only scuff the surface.

Anything using the standard GoPro-style two-prong mount — GoPro models and the many compatible action cameras and accessories that share the interface.
