A tether point Petzl forgot to add
Dropping a belay device on a multipitch route ranges from expensive to genuinely dangerous. Most tether solutions are improvised — tape, bulky knots, girth-hitched loops that interfere with the device. This adapter does it properly: a flexible TPU plug shaped to press-fit tightly into the factory cutout on the modern (3rd-gen) Petzl Grigri, turning it into a clean, dedicated tether point.
Thread 1.0–1.2 mm cord through the adapter and tether the device to your harness or anchor tether. The friction fit holds securely through normal use but the adapter can still be removed if you ever want it out. The profile is low enough that it doesn't change how the device handles, feeds, or stows.
Each order includes two adapters and a length of 1mm cord — set up your own device and hand the spare to your favorite belayer. Multiple colors are available to match or contrast your device.

FAQ
Which Grigri versions does it fit?
The modern 3rd-generation Petzl Grigri only — it presses into that model's factory cutout. It is not compatible with the Grigri 1, Grigri 2, Grigri+, or Neox.
How does it install?
Press it firmly into the factory cutout on the device body. It's an interference fit in flexible TPU: snug enough to stay put during use, but removable if you change your mind. No drilling, cutting, or permanent modification.
What cord should I use?
1.0–1.2 mm accessory cord works best — a length of 1mm cord is included to get you started. Cord color and type may vary between orders.
What colors are available?
Black, orange, yellow, blue, red, green, pink, and purple. Heads up: the transparent yellow filament reads slightly green to some eyes. Pick your color from the dropdown when you order.
Is this load-bearing safety equipment?
No. It's a retention tether point to help prevent accidental drops — it is not PPE and no part of it should ever be part of the belay chain or bear climbing loads. Always follow Petzl's instructions for your device.
What does shipping cost?
Flat-rate US shipping: $8 for 1–3 units, $10 for 4–9, free at 10+. US addresses only.
